You can't tell me anyone in an office knew what this game was about beyond the surface concept of reliving 12 minutes before your own murder. Twelve Minutes review: Gameplay Twelve Minutes is a point-and-click adventure, and Xbox and PC versions share the same navigation method of using a mouse cursor to click where you’d like to go. No idea why this game got the hype it did from Microsoft. 12 Minutes has essentially the same problem as many other point and click adventures - if you can't find the right pixel to click on you're stuck, and no one likes to get stuck, especially not. Something tells me this game only got developed on the promise of the gameplay and no one was looking to see how the narrative was panning out. Highly anticipated thriller Twelve Minutes finally arrived on August 19, but the game was met with a mix of harsh criticism and high praise from reviewers. Instead the game asks you to merely relive your life up to that point over and over so you don't need to commit to a decision because of course that would cause a controversy. Time loop thriller game Twelve Minutes was released to highly polarized reviews, with critics focusing on its violent content and ending twists. There are a lot of ways to think about time All these expressions mean the same thing: 1 year 12 months 52 weeks 365 days 8760 hours 525,600 minutes 31,536. Having an incest baby with your half-sister? That's the big twist? Really? Are all these narrative games just going for the quick and easy shock factor now?And then the game doesn't have the balls to commit to you staying with her or leaving her once you figure out the truth (you are given the option for both but those don't lead to a real ending). 12 Minutes reduces Spector's scope further, and finds a rich vein for interaction and storytelling. Beyond the gameplay the story is completely vapid. Warren Spector, director of Deus Ex, has said that he would like to make a game focused entirely on one city block because the small space would allow for unmatched mechanical depth. And the exact nature of things you need to know is not always obvious or easy to uncover. Twelve Minutes is a prime example of a well-crafted and superbly performed story that's still likely to sit poorly on. Then when you do know what to look for you are stuck waiting in real time for *nothing* to happen. Our review: Parents say ( 2 ): Kids say ( 2 ): There are games out there that cater to just about every type, from light-hearted fun to dramatic suspense to terrifying horror, but not every game is suited to every audience. The game's 12 minutes mechanic is frustrating in how many loops you require to get things done and how little time you have to explore as everything is timed.
